My self portrait is an illustration of my background, interests and passions.  Having been brought up in Farnham, Surrey and then living and working in London, I returned to Farnham to study Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts, and then for a Masters in Illustration.  In between my two courses of study I have enjoyed a career in both publishing, and then education.   My roots are in Farnham but I also enjoy the stimulation of all that London has to offer.    My art has often been influenced by the sea, and this remains one of my abiding inspirations.   Clues to other influences are in the picture, including one of my two scruffy ginger cats!
